THE OLD PADDLING POOL (BURNHAM-ON-SEA)
The old paddling pool, Burnham-on-Sea. Built in 1920 and dismantled in 2010, it was donated by a local family who paid for the building of the pool to celebrate and give thanks for the safe return of their sons after the 1st World War. It was a pool for paddling, and for sailing your model boats in, which I did as a wee lad! It was dismantled in 2010 after years of weather, water and neglect… A graphic rendering of the pool at low tide after a storm, showing the distant islands of Steep Holm and Flat Holm, and on the right the lighthouse standing out of the silhouette of Brean Down promontory.
