Deep water can produce a feeling of unease and fear. I used to have a real problem crossing  bridges over water, and I am still very uncomfortable about it. I have tried to create that feeling, a body of deep, dark water sitting in a valley or fjord. The distant mountains reflect like frozen icicles, as the setting sun sinks in the deep, cold water. A solitary boat and a few birds quietly drift by.
