This was an incredible, burning, mid summer sunset. The sky was on fire and as I watched I realised that I was looking at 2 atomic events. The buildings of Hinkley Point nuclear power station to the left, lit up by a far more massive atomic event, our sun dropping out of view over the horizon… Hence the title ‘Atomic Sunset’. A mass of yellows, reds, and oranges light the sky. The same colours are reflected in the brown and black of the mud flats as birds fly low over the warm summer mud…
