The ‘Ship in a bottle’ is a classic seaside momento. I wanted to go a bit further and create an impossibly complex scene in a bottle. ‘A fish in a bottle’ contains sand, shells, a cage and an anchor with a large, shiny, gold, clockwork fish, accompanied by 3 smaller fish. Gold seaweed emerges from the rippled sand and glass bubbles float up around the fish. All the elements are housed in a glass bottle, sitting on a glass cradle, standing on a glass tile. Underneath is a cork matt on a shiny steel base. Around the neck of the bottle hangs a brown paper label and on the floor lies it’s key…
